About NestCalc
I’m Dave, a DIY retirement planner who spent years obsessing over spreadsheets before putting them on the web. I built NestCalc because I couldn’t find a retirement income planner that was fast, powerful, private, and free to start.
Most tools either require you to create an account, link your financial accounts, or spend an hour entering every detail of your life. I wanted something you could complete in ~5 minutes, get real answers, and not hand over your data in the process.
Why NestCalc exists
No account required. No linking bank accounts. No passwords. If you choose to create an account, your data is stored securely and never shared or sold.
What most free tools skip entirely, NestCalc does by default: tax-optimized withdrawal sequencing, Roth conversion modeling, ACA subsidy preservation, HSA triple-tax optimization, and IRMAA management. The same analysis that retirement planning software charges $100–$150 a year for, NestCalc’s calculator provides free, in minutes, built specifically for early retirement scenarios, not just the traditional age-65 playbook.
The promise
The NestCalc calculator will always be free to start. No data sharing. No account required.
Optional Premium — a one-time PDF report of your plan — keeps the lights on and funds new features. The core calculator stays free either way.
I’m actively adding features based on user feedback. If you have suggestions or find something broken, reach me at nestcalc.contact@gmail.com
Want a polished PDF of your plan to share with a spouse or advisor? Premium reports are available now: a $19 one-time premium report. You get your full year-by-year withdrawal plan with strategy levers, plus a printable PDF of your plan. The calculator itself stays free.
Important: NestCalc is for informational purposes only. It's not financial advice.
